From Riley St Garage’s inception, Head Chef Marcelino Papio Jr. has brought his mastery of Japanese cuisine to the kitchen, with an international resume from Dubai (Tokyo on the Rocks, Japengo Café) to the Philippines (Kamameshi), Europe (Zen Fusion, Santorini) and Sydney (Toko).

Affectionately known as Jojo by the team, you’ll always find a huge smile beaming from behind the scenes in the engine of the venue, our kitchen.  He’s been instrumental in developing the stunning Modern Japanese fare so synonymous with Riley’s reputation and has consistently delivered crowd pleasers for the past six years!

Coming from a large, Asian family and travelling the world have been two major influencers of Chef Marcelino’s craft.  You can see it in his generosity and hospitality, and the passion that he imparts in the kitchen, doing exactly what he loves.
