INN a mulled wine kinda mood!!

We’re still missing you terribly (and can’t wait to reopen!) so sending you a heart warming recipe to help chase away the iso blues!

750ml bottle of dry red wine
1 orange, sliced
8 cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
2 star anise
2–4 tablespoons sugar (or your preferred sweetener)
1/4c cognac

Combine ingredients in a large saucepan and stir.
Cook the mulled wine on medium to high heat until it reaches a simmer, without bubbling.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and let the wine simmer for at least 15 minutes (up to 3 hours for more intense flavour if you have the patience!)
Using a strainer, remove and discard the orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and star anise.  Give the mulled wine a taste, and stir in extra sweetener if needed.
Serve warm in heatproof cups or mugs, topped with your favourite garnishes.
